RV LiFePO₄ Conversions

Upgrade to lithium for more power, longer life

Why Go Lithium?

LiFePO₄ (lithium iron phosphate) batteries transform how you can use your RV. Compared to lead-acid, they offer:

  • More usable capacity — Use 80-90% vs 50% for lead-acid
  • Faster charging — Accept higher charge rates, reach full faster
  • Longer lifespan — 3000+ cycles vs 300-500 for lead-acid
  • Less weight — About 1/3 the weight of equivalent lead-acid
  • No maintenance — No watering, no equalization charges

The result: camp longer without hookups, charge faster when you do, and stop replacing batteries every few years.

Our Approach

A lithium conversion isn't just swapping batteries. We ensure your whole system works together.

Assess Your Needs

How do you use your RV? What loads do you run? How long do you boondock? This determines the right battery size and configuration.

Check Compatibility

Your converter, solar controller, and alternator charging need to work with lithium. We identify what needs updating.

Select Quality Batteries

Not all lithium batteries are equal. We recommend quality cells with proper BMS, suitable for RV use and your climate.

Update Charging

Configure or replace charging sources for lithium profiles. Proper charging extends battery life and ensures safety.

Install Correctly

Proper mounting, fusing, cable sizing, and BMS integration. Details matter for safety and longevity.

Test Everything

Complete system testing under load and charging. We verify everything works together before calling it done.

Things to Consider

Converter Compatibility

Many RV converters can't be adjusted for lithium charging profiles. Upgrading to a lithium-compatible unit is often worthwhile.

Cold Weather Use

LiFePO₄ shouldn't be charged below freezing. If you camp in cold weather, heated batteries or charge lockouts may be needed.

Drop-In vs. Custom

Drop-in replacements are simple but may not be optimal. Custom configurations can offer better capacity and integration.

Inverter Sizing

Lithium can deliver high currents. If you're adding an inverter, now's the time to size it for your actual needs.
